These impressionistic and dreamlike images of poppies were inspired by the accounts of opium induced dreams that many nineteenth century writers and painters used to inspire their work. The title Unfolding Stories refers both to the stories and paintings whose core ideas unfolded in dreams, to the quite literally unfolding stories of the individual, self-seeded, common or garden poppies growing in my garden in Kent.
